LENT 2014
Ash Wednesday – March 5th
Ash Wednesday this year falls on March 5th. Masses in the Cathedral will be celebrated at 8 am 10.30 am, 1.05 pm and 7 pm.

HUNGER LUNCH FOR TRÓCAIRE – THIS ASH WEDNESDAY MARCH 5th
To mark Ash Wednesday as a Day of Fast and Abstinence and the beginning of Lent why not support our Hunger Lunch in aid of Trócaire’s Lenten Campaign? Served in the Gillooly Hall this coming Wednesday, 5th March. Lunch (delicious soup with fresh bread rolls) will be served between 12-2pm.
Suggested minimum donation €3. All welcome.

Lenten Commitments – A Suggestion
This Lent Trócaire is asking people to remember those in the developing world who are living in poverty. Please take a Trócaire Box this Lent and remember the world’s poor.

Way of Gentleness Lent 2014
Commencing on Tuesday 11th March at 8pm in the Cathedral.

Stations of the Cross – Lent 2014
After the 10.30 a.m. Mass on each Friday during Lent there will be a short meditation on the Way of the Cross – all are encouraged to attend.

FIRST FRIDAY – MARCH 7th
Friday next is the First Friday of the Month.  Mass at 7pm. Confession before  the 8am, 10.30am and 7pm Masses. All are welcome.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2014
Takes place on Friday 7th March at 8.00 p.m. in Sligo Presbyterian Church, Church Street, Sligo. For the last 80 years people of all Christian denominations have come together on the first Friday of March to pray. The 2014 service has been prepared by the Christian women of Egypt themed ‘Streams in the Desert. All are most welcome.

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK Dear Lord you are my strength in times of weakness my comforter in times of sorrow; let me take refuge in your loving heart. Amen.

GOOD FRIDAY PASSION PLAY
“The Folly of God” – a dramatic presentation of the Gospel Passion presentation forming part of the 3pm Liturgy on Good Friday. Cast now being recruited – please call the Parish Office.
