TWENTY FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Our relationship with God can fall flat, like any of our loves and friendships. It needs to be renewed, revitalised. In our weekly Sunday celebration of Mass we have an
opportunity to renew our faith in God, and to commit
ourselves for one more week to following his way
MASS AT THE TOMB OF ST ASICUS – TODAY
The bishop will celebrate Mass at the tomb of St. Asicus , Patron of Elphin Diocese, at Ballintra, Co Donegal at 4.00p.m. today. A free bus will leave the Cathedral at 2.30 p.m. All welcome. No booking is necessary. Please note that as the tomb is approached through a field the wearing of appropriate footwear is suggested
DIOCESAN NEEDS ENVELOPE COLLECTION
Next week-end – proceeds go to fund the general administration of our diocese and to provide the salaries of the Bishop’s Pastoral Development Officer, Child Protection and Youth Officer and the Primary Schools Catechist.  A levy of €6 is placed on each home throughout the diocese to meet these demands. Thank you for your generosity.
 NOVENA TO BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTTA
The Novena begins this Monday August 27th from 6.30-7.30pm in the Convent of the Missionaries of Charity, Temple St. until September 4th. Her Feast Day Mass will be celebrated on September 5th in our Cathedral at 7pm with Bishop Jones as the main Celebrant. All are invited

FR DEOGRATIAS FUNDRAISING FOR PARISH CHURCH
Fr Deogratias Kisweka, who is ministering in our parish for the summer months is involved in the building of a church in his native parish in the Diocese of Ifakara, Tanzania. Funds are required to complete the project. Anyone who wishes to contribute to the completion of this sacred space for the people of the parish of St. Verena may do so by any of the following methods:
1.Give a donation directly to Fr. Deogratias
2.Leave envelope addressed to Fr. Deogratias at Sacristy
