28th July & 4th August 2013 SEVENTEENTH & EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

TODAY SUNDAY JULY 28th SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME The power of prayer is limited only by our failure to persevere with confidence in the graciousness of God. We have to learn that in prayer we don’t bend God to our will, rather we are shaped by the will of him who is the source of every perfect gift.

SUNDAY – AUGUST 4th EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME It is hard to accept the truth that despite the labour involved our possessions are not permanent. The follower of Christ learns that what is really lasting is the love with which he does his work, and the generosity with which he shares the passing products of his toil.

CATHEDRAL REPAIR & APPEAL We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you, our parishioners, while the internal walls of our cathedral are being repaired. This repair work resulting from dampness is necessary for safety and aesthetics. It is work we had not budgeted for and is costly. We therefore make a special appeal to all who support our parish financially to endeavour to maintain their weekly contribution at their current level and if at all possible to consider an increase to help defray the costs involved in the repairs. We are conscious of the harsh economic climate that all are experiencing however we would like to mention that we are finding it increasingly difficult to meet our financial commitments because of a fall off in our parish contributions. Thank you for your ongoing support of our parish.
